Complete redevelopment of Oasis Beach Hotel. |
|
|
|
Hotel
will be completely shut down from 1st Sep 2008 onwards; until
further information. Following our earlier message regarding the
hotel closure and complete redevelopment of the site. We have
been liaising closely with the developers of the new project and
while we are reasonably sure that the status quo of what has
been communicated to you thus far will remain, there are a few
bits of information which have not been confirmed to us in
writing. As such, we take the liberty to share the following
precautionary measures we will implement in the interim. An
important part of the details we await confirmation on concerns
the beach access and the period required for vacating the hotel
premises and at which point this would take effect: 1) While we
have every reason to believe that 1st September 2008 is still
the date for the final check-out from the Oasis Beach Hotel, we
have decided as a precautionary measure to stop sale Oasis Beach
Hotel in July and August until we receive further information.
At this point in time we do not feel it is necessary to inform
your clients who have confirmed bookings during this period as
an update on this stop sale will be advised by 1st April 2008.
2) We are also fairly certain and have received a reasonable
confirmation from the developers that there will be a beach for
Oasis Beach Tower guests once the Oasis Beach Hotel closes. The
challenge unfortunately is that we are still awaiting details
from the developer in terms of the exact access which will be
provided to the beach area, along with the exact facilities
which will be available on the beach. Subsequently, we have
taken the decision to stop sale Oasis Beach Tower from 1st July
2008 onwards as a precautionary measure for the time being.
Again, we do not feel there is a need to inform your clients at
this point as an update will be provided by 1st April 2008.

We
would like to update you on the project that is underway in the
vicinity of the hotel. As part of Abu Dhabi's ongoing
development, a shopping mall and a residential building is being
constructed next to the hotel. The development is in its initial
stage, and is taking place to the right of the hotel on the
Corniche Road. The site is visible from our rooms on one side of
the hotel. The work is carried out from 6am to 8pm daily and
there is the obvious noise disturbance for only that part of the
hotel. We would like to stress that the work does not affect any
of services, facilities or rooms in the rest of the hotel.
Please note that while hotel tries not to allocate these rooms
to our leisure guests sometimes there may be exceptions,
especially when the hotel is running at full capacity. It is
also our constant endeavour to ensure that the guests
inconvenience is at the bare minimum. May we also stress once
again the importance of informing every guest at the time of
booking with us as to the extent of the construction and the
necessity of putting this in writing on your confirmation. This
will ensure that we are all being proactive in our communication
to guests, and that guest satisfaction is not affected during
their stay. |

Expansion of Hotel Updated on 21.02.08 :We have great pleasure
to inform you that we will enhance and expand the hotel with a
luxury extension. Within the next few weeks we will commence
with development of 76 new luxury units at the Palm Tree Court &
Spa which will include a selection of junior suites in addition
to some very special one bedroom and two bedroom suites as part
of the new inventory. The new project will be located on the
sand stretch on the western border of the resort (Abu Dhabi /
Dubai Waterfront side of Palm Tree Court & Spa). Hoarding will
be placed to screen off the area which will be affected in
future however the first phase of the project will comprise the
fairly academic process of soil testing which will not cause any
disturbance to our guests in the resort. Once physical
construction of the new wing commences in the next few weeks,
all access to the site will be from a separate entrance outside
the resort and work will take place during daylight hours only
from 10am to 5.30pm. While a firm date for the physical
construction has not been finalised, it is expected to commence
around early April. While we recommend advising your clients of
the current preparations, we at present do not anticipate any
significant impact to the enjoyment of our guests during their
stay at the Palm Tree Court & Spa, however we will closely
monitor the situation and advise you accordingly should this
change. We will continue to update you on the development of
this exciting addition to the Palm Tree Court & Spa and should
you require any additional details, please don't hesitate to let
us know. |

updated schedule of works; - The current toilets and shower
works are due to be completed by 31 May. - The beach renovation
consists in remaking the landscaping and upgrading the existing

with one or two days either way) Most of the work will be done
outside, in the contracted company’s workshop and only the
installation will be done on site. The installation will
probably cause intermittent disturbance, although no major
inconvenience. Update received on 26/03/2008: With reference to
the e-mail we have sent you on 13 March, regarding the
renovation works on our beach, I would like to give you more
details on the length of the works and the impact they will have
on our mutual customers. Please find hereunder the schedule of
works: - The current toilets and shower works are due to be
completed by 20 April. - The beach renovation will be done in
two phases: · Phase one will start as of 10 April and will be

seeking your patience and support during the development of
these additional facilities. Update received on 13/03/2008 Hotel

damages to lovely front beach. In order to further improve the
facilities we are offering to our guests, we will are starting a
project meant to upgrade the beach front to a higher standard,
which should increase the guests’ satisfaction even more. We are
going to remake the landscaping and do an upgrading of the beach
umbrellas. To minimize the impact, we will complete the project
gradually, on parts of the beach. Most of the work will be done
outside, in the contracted company’s workshop and only the
installation will be done on site. As the installation will most
probably cause intermittent disturbance, although no major
inconvenience, we are seeking your patience and support during
the development of these additional facilities. |

landscaping and upgrading of the existing umbrellas; which is
now expected to be completed by end-September 2008. As mentioned

inconvenience that these works might have caused you and your
clients. Updated on 17.06.08: Latest updates on the length of

Major
construction project at The Montgomerie, Starting 1st June 2008
until 30th September 2008, the front 9 holes of the golf course
will be closed due to the regrassing of the greens. During these
four months players will still be able to play 18 holes as they
will play twice on the back 9 holes to complete the full round.
|
|
|
|
The
greens at The Montgomerie, Dubai continue to be a challenge to
maintain during the summer months due to the turf grass species
currently being used and the existing soil conditions. In
addition our extreme summer climatic conditions coupled with
poor quality irrigation water also have deteriorated the greens
year after year prompting us to implement a greens rebuild
construction program which will commence on June 1st 2008 for
the front 9 greens. This will involve closing the front 9 holes
of the golf course for a period of 4 months from June 1st to
September 30th to allow us to remove the existing greens turf
and top 6 inches of high organic contaminated soil. A mix of
blended silica sand and peat moss will be placed back into the
greens accompanied by compacting and shaping to return the
greens back to their original contours. Research into an
improved turf grass species has resulted with TifEagle Ultrdwarf
Bermuda being the most tolerant turf species for this region.
The TifEagle Ultradwarf Bermuda has stood the test of time as it
has been used on many other golf courses in this region. This
rebuild program will again be mirrored for the back 9 greens in
the summer of 2009 which will see the championship course greens
fully converted to produce superior quality putting surfaces for
the future. During this construction project, 9 holes will
remain open for play so that you may enjoy playing twice for 18
holes. |

As
you surely know, Dubai is in a state of continuous expansion and
is experiencing a tremendous momentum of development throughout
the city. Our Hotel is located on The Old Town Island in
Downtown Burj Dubai. This area is currently being developed and
is under construction, including projects such as The Dubai Mall
(the world's largest mall), Burj Dubai (the world's tallest
tower) and several residential areas. With regards to the
construction, there is a certain amount of building work in the
vicinity, however, normally once indoors, there is no
disturbance as all our windows are soundproofed and the walls
are thick. All these development projects are managed by local
contractors and we do not have exact details on when the works
are expected to be finished. Please note that we are not
undergoing any physical changes to our property and that we do
not have any construction works going on at the Hotel itself. We
trust this information is extensive and up to your expectations
and we most certainly remain at your disposal for any further
detail and assistance you may require. |
